Fernando Prieto Ramos

Fernando Prieto Ramos is Full Professor and Director of the Centre for Legal and Institutional Translation Studies (Transius) at the University of Geneva's Faculty of Translation and Interpreting, where he held the deanship from 2014 to 2018 and is currently Vice-Dean. His work focuses on interdisciplinary approaches, translator competence, terminology management and quality assurance in legal and institutional translation. He has published widely, and has received several academic awards, including a European Label Award for Innovative Methods in Language Teaching from the European Commission, an International Geneva Award from the Swiss Network for International Studies, and a Consolidator Grant for his project on "Legal Translation in International Institutional Settings" (LETRINT). He is a former member of Dublin City University's Centre for Translation and Textual Studies, and has also worked for various national and international institutions, including five years of in-house service at the World Trade Organization.

Titela Vîlceanu, PhD, is a habilitated Professor at the University of Craiova, where she currently serves as Head of the "Alexandru Piru" Doctoral School and Director of the Translatio Centre for Translation, Communication and Interpretation. She is also President of the Romanian Society for English and American Studies (RSEAS) and member of the European Society for the Study of English (ESSE). Her main research interests lie in translation studies, pragmatics, intercultural communication and ELT methodology. She has published extensively, authoring over 80 academic papers and 5 books, and has participated in numerous international research programmes. Her editorial work includes coordinating special issues on translation studies and co-editing the volumes "A History of Translations into Romanian". She is part of the editorial teams of several academic journals, contributes as a reviewer for the Swedish Journal of Romanian Studies, and works as a section editor for Open Linguistics. She also leads the CoTraT research laboratory at the University of Craiova and takes part in international initiatives such as the "European University for Cross-Border Knowledge Sharing".

Daniela Badea

Daniela Badea started her career in a consulting company, as a translator, interpreter and liaison officer. Since 2007 she has been working in the Directorate General for Translation of the European Commission, accumulating an extensive experience as a translator, as well as in other associated areas. She is the representative in Romania of the Directorate General for Translation of the European Commission. Her mandate consists in promoting multilingualism, the profession of translator and, in general, the linguistic policies of the EU.

Following university studies in German and Spanish, and then vocational techniques for career linguists, John Kirby has worked in the private, freelance and public sectors as a translator, reviser, interpreter, technical writer, machine translation consultant, terminologist and terminology coordinator. He is now Senior Expert and Head of Sector for Data Processing and Coordination at the Directorate-General for Translation in the European Commission.

Mădălina Marincu

Starting out in journalism and PR, Mădălina Marincu joined the European Commission's Directorate-General for Translation in 2008 as a translator, later specialising in terminology before moving into DGT's AI Innovation sector. She now works as a Project Officer in AI business analysis and prompt engineering, developing AI-powered services that help people produce first drafts of complex multilingual documents.
